Spring Garden Run flows into the ALCOSAN system upstream from Wilson Road in Reserve Township. PWSA has identified a separate stormwater sewer in its 2020-2025 Capital Improvement Plan. The valley and ravines upstream from the separation contacts some steep slopes and open spaces, including a seven acre parcel owns by the Borough. The Spring Garden Run overflow is identified as A-60 along the Allegheny River below the North Shore section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail near the Heinz Plant.
ALCOSAN's typical year analysis reveals 57 overflow activations of the A60 Outfall for a total of 378 hours of overflow discharge accounting for 198 million gallons of overflow.
