The smallest of the Priority Watersheds, M-16 drains the South Side Slopes and South Side Park, and a portion of the South Side Flats neighborhood. The main pipe for the sewershed runs beneath 21st Street, then jogs to the east and runs under 18th Street to drain into the Monongahela River near the entrance to South Side Riverfront Park.
ALCOSAN's typical year analysis reveals 61 overflow activations of the M16 Outfall for a total of 434 hours of overflow discharge accounting for 102 million gallons of overflow.
